Friends and the Salamanca Market
First, we caught a bus to go meet up with some couchsurfing friends: Fran & Ian for a coffee/ tea at their house. But on the way the bus stopped early and let everyone off because there was a Christmas parade blocking the route.
Khevron’s Christmas parade videos:

So we watched the Christmas parade a while and then made our way on foot to Fran’s house, where they gave us coffee and tea, and apple bread. They also had a lot of suggestions for travel during our stay here in Hobart.
We might get together with Fran on Wednesday and she could take us out to Bruny Island by car. We may rent a car for a few days as well, to get around to more remote areas.
They recommended a pie shop nearby so we went over and tried it: Jackman McCross Bakery. They had a lot of yummy looking pastries. We had sandwiches made for lunch, but we will save them for dinner.
After that, we went over to the Salamanca market, which is a huge farmer’s market style place with many vendors. I bought a warm wooly jacket for $45. Khevron got a pelican made of wire.
Then we walked along the shore for awhile, taking note of the Drunken Admiral restaurant that sounded fun.
